SPORT CODES

Pionierspark Primary School offers the following sport codes.

ATHLETICS

  • Two separate athletics days are held annually.
    • The Inter house for U/10 to U/13 learners.
    • The Jnr Phase athletics for U/7 to U/9 learners.
  • U/10 – U/13 Athletes who performs well are entered into the zonal competition.
  • From Zonals athletes are chosen to compete at regionals and Nationals.

Rugby

  • Rugby is open to U/7 to U/13 boys.
  • U/7 to U/10 rugby teams take part in friendly rugby matches arranged by various school in Namibia.
  • U/11 to U/13 rugby teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the NSSU (Namibia Primary Schools Rugby).

Netball

  • Netball is open to U/7 to U/13 girls.
  • U/7 to U/10 netball teams take part in friendly netball matches arranged by various school in Namibia.
  • U/11 to U/13 netball teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the NSSU.

Field Hockey

  • Hockey is open to U/7 to U/14 girls and boys.
  • U/7 to U/14 hockey teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the NSSU.

Tennis

  • Tennis is open to U/10 to U/13 girls and boys.
  • U/10 to U/13 tennis teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the NSSU.

Soccer

  • Soccer is open to U/10 to U/13 boys.
  • U/11 and U/13 soccer teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the NSSU.

Cricket

  • Cricket is open to U/7 to U/13 boys.
  • U/7 and U/13 cricket teams takes part in a Regional / National league as organized by the Cricket Namibia.

Participation

All Pionierspark Primary School learners who wishes to take part in sport MUST register on or before the end of February each year.

  1. 1 Registration will happen online, and the link will be forwarded to all parents.
  1. 2 Learners may ONLY register for Two Winter sport codes. (Rugby, Soccer Tennis Hockey or Netball)
  2. 3. The Sport Participation Fee amount will be determined by the Sport Committee each year in February.

Players to Old / Sport Code Not Offered / To Few Players

Learners who are too old for a sport code offered, or who wants to take part in a sport code not offered at the school, will get a letter from the school giving them permission to take part for another school.

Players from Other Schools / Home Schooling

Players from other schools may ask for permission to part in a Parkies sports team. The Principal and Sport Organizer will determine if there is space available.

These players should write a letter requesting permission to the sport organizer as well as hand in a letter of permission from their current school.

Sport Participation Fee

A Sport Participation Fee is payable for all winter sport codes as well as cricket. The fee are payable as a once off payment. Payment plans available include:

  • Once off full payment
  • 3 – Months
  • 6 – Months

The amount per year will be determined by the Sport committee and communicated in the beginning of the year.

Coaches

All persons interested to get involved in coaching must apply for the position on the official application form available at the sport office.

Applications will be reviewed by the Principal and Sport organizer.

Team Managers

All persons interested to get involved as Team Manager must apply for the position on the official application form available at the sport office.

Applications will be reviewed by the Principal and Sport organizer.
